He moved from being a sweet boy to a depressed adolescent, instantly having an especially troubled connection with his parents. “I came to class furious,” he recalls. “I was upset on the street, and as a result of that rage, I made many foolish mistakes.” I simply want to find all 12- or 13-year-olds and tell them it’s OK if their old dad isn’t in their lives.”
