Who Is Rob Wells?

Early Life

Robb Wells was born Robert Christopher Wells on March 20, 1971. His father served as a civilian officer in command of the RCMP Forensic Crime Lab in Moncton, New Brunswick. When he was eight years old, he moved to Dartmouth and subsequently to a house on the same block where his future Trailer Park Boys co-star, John Paul Tremblay lived.

When he was a teenager, Robb Wells developed an interest in sports, which became one of his many hobbies. During this time, he played alongside some of Nova Scotia’s greatest soccer players to represent his province at the Canadian National Championships.

His time playing soccer during his free time from school eventually allowed him to be better. He was able to win the top awards for Canada at the International Tournament in New Jersey by the time he was in high school.

With the support of his Grade 9 and 10 English teachers, Robb Wells honed his artistic skills at a young age which would help him during his acting career. Since he was neighbors with John Paul Tremblay and Mike Clattenburg, they became close and started hanging out. While most of their other friends at school were busy with their studies, the three of them worked together on their first short film, One Last Shot. Upon its completion, they realized they wanted to do more films, which they eventually did and helped them start their acting and writing career.

Career

Robb Wells continued writing and making film projects with John Paul Tremblay and Mike Clattenburg. The following year after their first short film, they released their debut indie film, Trailer Park Boys

The favorable reviews and attention that the film received have fueled the trio to create more and have Mike Smith in the team. They eventually produced Trailer Park Boys as a series, including Trailer Park Boys: The Movie and Trailer Park Boys: Countdown Liquor Day.

Robb Wells also starred in the American indie coming-of-age drama Virginia’s Run, the vigilante action thriller film The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day. Between 2010 to 2011, he appeared in the new series The Drunk and On Drugs Happy Fun Time Hour alongside many of his former Trailer Park Boys co-stars. He also starred in the film Hobo with a Shotgun, and made a cameo appearance in the indie film Jackhammer. In 2012, he played Peter in the horror film Would You Rather.

Rob Wells, along with Tremblay and Smith, signed on to reprise their roles as Trailer Park Boys in a third feature film, which they released on April 18, 2014. The trio has revealed that they had acquired the rights to Trailer Park Boys and that it would return for eighth and ninth seasons on the online channel that Wells co-founded with them: SwearNet.com. In 2021, the actor starred in the drama Dawn, Her Dad, and the Tractor. So, Robb Wells’ net worth will likely grow more.
