The Life Of The Youngest Franco

Early Life

Dave Franco was born and raised with his two brothers, James and Tom, in Palo Alto, California. His mother is a poet of Russian Jewish ancestry named Betsy Lou, while his father is a businessman of Portuguese and Swedish ancestry named Douglas Eugene Franco. In numerous interviews, the actor has said that he is proud of his gene, especially his Jewishness.

Dave Franco liked writing when he was growing up, so he eventually attended the University of Southern California. He once said that he originally didn’t see himself as an actor but as a high school teacher teaching creative writing to high school students. He was on this path until his brother James Franco and his manager saw potential in him as an actor and told him to attend a theater class as a sophomore student, where he began discovering his love for acting.

Dave Franco’s first-ever credited role is his role as Benjamin on The CW drama series 7th Heaven in 2006. Soon after, he also made guest appearances in Do Not Disturb and Young Justice until he was able to get roles in films such as Superbad, Charlie St. Cloud, and Now You See Me. After starring in those films, he also appeared in the teen drama series Privileged in 2008, but the show got canceled due to low ratings, but he eventually landed a regular role in the ABC sitcom series Scrubs.

His earlier roles may be minor compared to the roles he’s bound to get in the future, but they were enough for MTV Networks NextMovie.com to name him as one of 2011’s “Breakout Stars to Watch For”. And this award seemed to foreshadow his career’s turn as he started getting bigger and more prominent roles in films like Fright Night, Warm Bodies, 21 Jump Street, and Now You See Me.

In 2018, Dave Franco’s career took a more promising turn as he landed a lead role in the Netflix drama 6 Balloons, a film where he played a heroin addict, which required him to lose weight until he became unrecognizable. Then in 2020, he also made his directorial and screenplay writing debut with the horror-thriller film The Rental starring his wife, Alison Brie. The film was both a financial and critical success, which means it will not be his last directorial effort.

In 2011, Dave Franco began dating actress Alison Brie, and they got engaged in August 2015. While they are both actors who are used to media following them around, the pair revealed that they had a private wedding ceremony on March 13, 2017.

While many fans of the couple will be surprised, the actress stated in a 2017 interview with Larry King that she doesn’t see herself becoming a parent, so having children is not something they are planning. This revelation did not seem to be a deal-breaker for Dave Franco as the couple is still happily married even if there won’t be any new Francos on his side of the family.

For his years of hard work in the industry, Dave Franco’s net worth is $10 million, the same amount as Alison Brie’s net worth. With a growing career, successful collaborative films, and some financial means, you can expect more films from them, and a potential sequel to The Rental is on the horizon. He expressed his interest in directing a sequel, so if you like the film he made with his wife, then it’s time for you to get excited.

When it comes to his brothers, Dave Franco is very open about his relationship with them, and the public has always seen them together. But he said that he had to distance himself from James Franco to make a name for himself without people thinking he was getting roles because of his relationship with his brother and that he actually worked hard to get to where he is now. He is the shortest among the three of them, so if you’re wondering, “How tall is Dave Franco?” the answer is 5 ft. 5 in.

Dave Franco Is Standing Tall

Being the youngest among the three Francos didn’t hinder Dave Franco from achieving the kind of fame he is enjoying now. It looks like he won’t need to live under the shadows of his brothers as Tom Franco is not an active actor in Hollywood, and James Franco is recently facing some career downfalls for some sexual misconduct allegations. Sooner or later, it will be time for Dave Franco’s net worth to grow more until more people start to take notice of his talents in acting and filmmaking.
